The Baudet de Poitou  is a breed of donkey originating in the Poitou region of France. One of the most distinctive donkey breeds, it is also among the rarest and least-known.  The "friendly, affectionate and docile" Poitou Donkey is "the oldest breed approved in France"

We have made the commitment to learn as much as we can about this amazing breed and share our knowledge with all who are interested.

Fifi

When we first saw Fifi, my first response was...I must have her.  Luckily her previous owners were looking to downsize so we jumped on the chance to buy her.  We will be taking her in soon to scan for a micro chip and try to find out her ancestry.  The more we learn about this unusual breed, the more we are captivated.  She is so gentle and has become a great pasture mate to the mini donkeys.  She started our passion for the Poitou!

Bella

Bella is an amazing jennet foal out of Beau and Brigette.  She was born in Canada and is settling into her new Texas home.  She is as gentle as a puppy and is growing into a perfect example of the Poitou.
